Tata Communications announce partnership with Formula One ...

This is F1Minute - Tata Communications announce partnership with Formula One Management.

A press conference held by Tata Communications today unveiled a new partnership between the technology company and Bernie Ecclestone?s Formula One Management. The deal comes in two parts - the first involving F1.com.

Tata Communications will host the website and provide content delivery services, improving security, speed, and allow it to scale to many millions of users. The second part involves connecting up all the races around the world with fibre optic connectivity.

At first glance, the partnership looks like any other F1 and technology company hook-up, but this has the potential to change the way fans can enjoy the sport. The fibre optic plans will reduce the cost of broadcasting, and could enable content to be streamed around the world without the delay and extra costs of satellite delivery.

Potentially, over several years, we might start to see more Formula One content available via internet streaming and download.
